Introduction
What StageReady is, who it's for, and the problem it solves.
What StageReady is
StageReady is a SaaS that automates bare-metal Windows device provisioning for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). It turns hours of manual laptop setup into a simple flow: plug in a USB stick, type a one-time 6-digit code, and walk away.
Because it's a cloud service, there's nothing for you to host or maintain. Your technicians sign in with their existing Microsoft 365 work account, and the only physical artifact is a "dumb" USB stick that carries no passwords and no client data.
Plug in
Boot the device from the StageReady stick.
Type a code
Six digits, single-use, generated in the dashboard moments earlier.
Walk away
The build runs itself and reports every step live.
Who it's for
StageReady is built for MSPs that provision Windows devices for multiple client organizations on Microsoft 365 / Entra ID. It fits teams that care about consistency, security, and a provable record of what was done to every device.
The problem it solves
- Manual device setup eats your most expensive resource: technician time.
- Homemade USB scripts often carry admin credentials in plain text, a real liability when a stick goes missing or a technician leaves.
- Every client is a little different, and script sprawl becomes unmaintainable.
- When a client asks "what did you actually do to these laptops?", there's often no record.
Where to go next
- 1
Learn the building blocks
Templates, profiles, and tenants covers what decides which steps run, and when you actually need a tenant connected.
- 2
See the end-to-end flow
How provisioning works walks a device from a blank disk to an enrolled machine.
- 3
Check the security story
Security model explains how credentials and codes are protected, and why a lost USB stick doesn't matter.
